[Transition Antiope from Aceso]

Antiope woke up more rested than ever before, for the first time in days she didn't feel sore from sleeping on the ground. And she knew it was all because of the sleeping mat and the sleeping bag, she zipped herself out and stretched feeling somewhat rejuvenated. Suddenly, she felt sick and she leaned over to throw up all over the ground. Morning sickness again. A thought that disappeared when she moved again and felt something sticky on her thigh, looking down she noticed small spots of blood staining the front of her overalls. Her period.

No. Not with everything that had happened. Not with the cravings, and the sickness, and the tender breasts. This was something else. A miscarriage. The alcohol, the fighting, the awful circumstances. She touched her stomach and frowned unsure of how she was supposed to feel. Relieved? The child had been Theseus and even though it had been unwanted, and he had betrayed her for that feral cat Phaedra she had still loved him. In a the back of her mind she had hoped when she came back a Victor, he would come back to her realizing his mistakes. She had not wanted his child, she had not been ready to be a mother but it was something that would tie them together. That would tie him to her.

The humilliation of what was happening with her body did not even register, because for once in her life she was not worried about how others would perceive her but actually confused with how to act on the circumstances.

She sat back down and downed the water that had been in the bag she had taken from Six, in silence she ate the reminder of the stew and thought of Theseus. Wondering how he would be feeling, if he had noticed and known what had been happening with her body. She could not imagine him still being with Phaedra, with her hideous bulldog face and her giant hips. And yet, as she sat there in silence eating and drinking she could not help but wonder if Theseus still thought about her from time to time...

Antiope stretched, she looked at the horizon of the caves and wondered how much longer the Games would last. She could not imagine the feast was still going on, but she knew that she needed to find other tributes and start fighting. If she stayed stagnant for too long, even tho she had killed three tributes in one day, she would surely be a target to the Game-Makers.

Standing up she grabbed one of the filled bottles of water and drank more, her mouth was dry and felt like sand-paper despite the fact she had drank before. She could only assume it had something to do with the strong headache she was filling, which certainly had to do with drinking a whole bottle of whiskey the night before. A hang-over. Her first one and last.

When she was done with the water she threw the empty bottle on the ground, next to all the other discarded items. They did not matter any longer. She had to travel light if she wanted to catch up to the other tributes and the weapons were already heavy enough. The area she was in seemed empty, there were no noises whatsoever. Perhaps she could employ her strategy from before again and hoard the elevator, wait for someone to come and kill them.

She wanted to get to eight kills that day.

Her mouth was so dry, she didn't understand it. Was this was the reckless consumption of alcohol did to a system? She stopped again and pulled out the soup canister eyeing it carefully. She wanted to save some for the next day, but she also knew her priority had to be the today, Reverie would send her something when he could. He had not failed her yet, and she needed to believe. A dry mouth and dizzy mind would not serve her well when she came face to face with her enemies.

She downed the entire thing, it seemed out of character for such a regal person to drink so desperately like her life depended on it. But she couldn't help it, the Games had forced her to do so many things that she had never done before. Things she had not been ready for. Starving, eating with her hands, sleeping on the floor, they were all things a queen like herself should have never partaken on. And yet, here she was.

She saved the container this time, knowing she would need it if she found another source of water. The sudden decision to contaminate the one in the gem mine becoming a horrible idea. But foresight was 20/20 and she could have never predicted this whatsoever.

The elevator was just ahead, she just needed to make it past the Cornucopia. Then she would be able to find the others. It was just a matter of time, really.

She hadn't come behind him right away and he hadn't noticed who was going to follow him, however, there was the other career that was still alive in front of him. It wasn't like she was hiding in the Coal Mine. And she must have been making her way towards the elevator was, where all the action had been. The cannons that had blown. None of them from him and did that mean that he wasn't worth any donations? Would there even be time?

His ax was held tight in his hand as he looked to the girl from District One. Hurricane knew full well what the others would think considering he hadn't included them in the decision to leave the elevator. The Twelves had been so obsessed with making decisions together. It was a miracle the alliance had lasted as long as it did. But, they were blood thirsty now. He could only assume they would want to finish off the girl from Ten and the boy from Eleven. And one of them had died when the cannon went off... the cannon could have even been the boy from Three.

"Antiope. Long time no see." His face was bright with the obnoxious smile that had always been across his face. Hurricane wasn't one to change and was this what everyone was assuming was going to happen? But, the girl from One was alone. The boy from Eleven hadn't been with her when he came to the elevator. But, there was no one else in the arena. "The elevator is full of bruised and battered tributes." But, he would have been outnumbered if he stayed... even if he was looking rather robust. He knew that he wouldn't win a fight against all of the tributes from the lower district.

Hurricane had only not sided with Antiope from the get-go because of the fear that Haven and Antiope would have easily ganged up on him in the first few days of the arena. He was afraid that they wouldn't be able to benefit him. "You don't look so good..." Was she so bad off that he could take her out? His eyes cautiously looked at the strong golden bow that she had. It was intimidating. Hurricane was risking allowing her a free hit as he stood in front of her tired and haggard from a fight all night.

Antiope had not expected to see anyone so quickly, not until she was ready. She had not been paying attention to what was going on around, far too confident in the situation to actually see Hurricane until he was right next to her. She should have swung at him, but he was smirking which made her hesitate for a second. His words were sudden, friendly but she knew better.

"Yeah? And why are you running away, then? Aren't you supposed to be some big bad pirate?" she asked rolling her eyes, the good thing about two Careers confronting each other was that they were able to have some smack talk before starting to fight. There was no rush in starting the fight because at the end of the day they both knew what was going to happen. One of them would die, and at the hands of the other which was more poetic than anything else.

"You don't look any better," she said annoyed by his sudden attack on her appearance, he was one to talk. There was blood all on him. Two cannons had went off which brought them down to the final seven, "Who's left?" if he came from the elevator maybe he would know.

Robyn was fast, she was much faster than the sick little thing from ten. But that wasn’t all she had going for her. She had passion, she had a drive to protect Hugh. She had anger, there was nothing worse than having someone dangle something in front of you. To have them rip it all away and laugh in your face. She had offered kindness. She had made Robyn feel so guilty about hurting that girl and leaving them to die. She’d only ever had Oren and Hugh to make her feel human. Everyone else always glared at her, hated her. Made her feel like she was just a number to die in the arena. It wasn’t fair, no, but Robyn had accepted things as they were.

Ten had made it seem different, like she really cared despite the circumstances. Robyn really cared. She cared about everyone. And it was real, she wasn’t just pretending. But the girl from ten wasn’t. She didn’t deserve to go home at all. She’d used Robyn. And she hadn’t exactly laughed in her face, but by targeting Hugh, she might as well have. She ran out of the elevator doors, right up to Hugh, hardly noticing the girl from one. “Hurricane, they’re coming...they’re all coming” She whispers, shaking her head. She never used his real name. But she did this time. She felt compelled to. As if she were trying to distance herself from the love she knew. She was exhausted, she was hurt, in a lot of pain. Her face was streaked with bloody tear stains. Both three’s blood splattered all over her face. Soon to be ten’s. Robyn wasn’t going to let anyone take him from her.

She’d always thought it’d be different. How things played out in the end. She never imagined she’d make it this far. She didn’t think she’d go out a fighter, a protector. She always saw herself running. Just like she’d always done. Running away...hiding...dying in fear. It wasn’t like that at all. She’d always wanted to win. Just to go home and live a long happy life. Maybe get married and have a beautiful little girl with sunshine hair. To die an old woman instead of in the bloody arena. But things never turn out the way you expect. She takes out the set of axes she’d grabbed from the supply bin, running her fingers over their shiny exteriors. She wished they’d just stayed up there on the hill. It was so much safer. That’s where she wanted to die. Not down here in the dark

He starts speaking and she finally notices the career girl from one. “Oh...hello…” Robyn says quietly. Hugh didn’t attack her, was she a friend? Would she help them? It was too much to hope for...Robyn knew this girl was a real and true career. Cruel and merciless. But surely she was smart? “The others want the careers dead. They’re coming to hunt you and Hurricane down. If you help us...then they won’t be able to. It’s too many to fight all alone...” Robyn says quickly, cautiously. “I can help you...are you hungry? I have food” She blinks, looking over the girl as she digs into her pockets “Oh...you’re hurt…” Robyn says quietly, keeping close to Hugh, looking back with nervous and quick movements.

The smack talk. Wasn't it a little reminiscent of the discussion that the Two and Four had the year before they had to have their fight to death in the finale. The careers knew how to put on a show. And Antiope knew better than to trust everything that the boy from Four had to say. His head was tossed over his shoulder as he rotated so that he didn't have his back turned to the elevator nor the enemy that stood in front of him.

"Hah. Don't I wish." He gave a slight huff of a laugh as he rocked on his heels. His free hand was soon held out and extended a finger for each of the five that came out... but he couldn't be sure. "Twelves. Ten. The girl from Seven... if she follows me." He gave another look back. Robyn had been the one person he actually assumed would be coming. "Boy from Seven or Eleven was likely the cannon after I left... given the blood." That was all followed by a grin.

The list of opponents would have made it obvious enough for why he had left the elevator for a smart girl like Antiope. He would assume that not even she would stack against those odds. Not with an entire pack to back them. Hurricane might have made the wrong choice... but he didn't want to fight Oren and lose Robyn yet. But, he also couldn't take on the Twelves alone. It was the biggest and most complicated mess of hate.

Antiope truly was out of it. She had not seen the girl from Seven arrive, though she covered in blood, and the way she spoke... it made her eyebrows raise slightly. Something was happening. And if what Hurricane was saying was true, then her only ally could be dead. Aero could be gone, and he was the only one that she could trust to any extent. Now it was her against everyone. Seven spoke about the others wanting the Careers out which made sense, they were the biggest threat. And she was the best threat out of all of them.

Antiope was not stupid, she knew exactly what had to happen, as her eyes scanned her two opponents she noticed the arrows sticking out of one of Hurricane's bags, ”Give me those extra arrows, and keep them away. I'll shoot them down while they stay away, and weaken them. Then come down and help,” she announced. If the other tributes, all of them, wanted to go against her then she would need allies, and if these two could help her then she was going to trust them for the time being.

And either way, she was the one who wanted to glory of taken Hurricane down.

Well, that was impossible timing. His eyes darted to the blonde who had been at his side the whole time. The one that he could trust. Maybe. He had been good to her and in return she was good to him. And this was the best possible intel he could have asked for at a time like this. Antiope and Hurricane didn't have time to fight each other if all the rest of the tributes were on their way out of the elevator and coming this way.

"Take them. You better have some honor in there..." He trailed off as he unzipped the bag and revealed the arrows to be easily taken by her. Hurricane reached in the bag and pulled out the poison to prepare his own weapon for the battle. It was going to be a battle. Ten and Twelves were for sure on the other side... and then whoever was left had to be theirs? Right? Aero and Hurricane had never spoken bad words. And if it was Oren still alive.. well Robyn was on this side.

But. All the predictions in the world couldn't guarantee what order they would fall. He just knew that a clash of the titans in the end would be the best possible outcome. The rest had to die first.

He pulled away and grabbed Robyn's arm in a protective way. "Are you ready to fight some more?" Hurricane only wanted to prove that Robyn wasn't to be attacked... she was on their side. If that wasn't obvious by her warning them who was all coming.

Fighting was not something that most people were used to, but Antiope was, not only because she was a Career but because she had to fight ever since volunteering. To prove her position, to prove how much more worth it than Phaedra she was. Throughout the entirety of the Hunger Games she had been killing, fighting, doing everything that she needed to in order to keep herself in the best position possible; impressing Reverie and the Capitol in order to get all the donations.

Antiope smiled lightly as she grabbed onto the arrows, ”Honor? You are the one who left me behind, I'm not the one you have to worry about. Just keep your word this time around,” she said, as she watched Hurricane embrace Robyn she rolled her eyes, ”And you, better not hesitate to kill,” she pointed the arrow at Robyn menacingly before heading out.

She ran ahead and used her upper body strength to climb the Cornucopia where she set up, immediately she pulled out the camouflage paints from her bag and covered her body with them hoping she would stay hidden for long enough to weed down the competition. If Hurricane and Seven were able to follow through with their part of the deal, then they had a real chance to see this through. After all, were they not the biggest threats in the competition?

Robyn’s heart was beating a mile a minute. She could hardly take the anticipation and dread that came with knowing how devastating of a fight this would be. There would be so much blood, so much pain and death. Robyn had seen plenty of it. She knew what to expect now. But that didn’t mean she liked it at all. She never would. But she always saw it. When she closed her eyes, she saw all of it. Over and over. It would never leave her alone. Not until she was dead. Like the others. She’d heard them debating on who it was that was left, Robyn had an answer for that. “Griffin...he killed that boy from eleven...the big one...I asked Oren for help, but I don’t know what he’ll do. It’s that girl from ten. She started all of this. Put the target on your back instead of hers...she’s mad we killed her friend. The three girl” Robyn explains.

She stuffs the bread in her mouth and swigs the waters, swallowing it down greedily. She was still so hungry and thirsty. Her throat was dry from all the smoke in the elevator. She coughs a bit before clearing her throat. Maybe she wouldn’t feel so weak and nauseous if she had more on her stomach. Was that how energy worked? Robyn didn’t have a clue. She looks down at Hugh’s hand as he grabs her, eyes then darting up to look into his with a little smile. “No. I’m tired, actually. But you can bet I’ll do my best. It’s them or us...right?” she asks. Ready to fight….no, she wasn’t. She wanted to be done. She was so tired of the same nightmare over and over that she was forced to walk through. But she knew it’d be over soon enough. She just had to hang on until then. She smiles at the girl from one as she points the arrow at her. Robyn wasn’t scared. Not anymore.

I won’t. The girl from three was when I could’ve hesitated...and I didn’t” Robyn says plainly, no sense of pride in her words. It was the truth. And she knew a killer like Antiope would like what she was saying. She turns back to Hugh with a gentle smile as Antiope scampers off. “I really hope we can trust her...otherwise this won’t end very well for us” Robyn says, suddenly quiet. She trusted Hugh, that was for certain. But Antiope? You weren’t supposed to trust careers. Wasn’t like Robyn listened to that rule anyways.

He just nodded to Antiope. How was he supposed to know that Haven wasn't going to side with the District One girl either? This games could have been completely different if they hadn't all just ran their separate ways. Hugh gave a nod and started his way away from the archer that would be their help. They were all coming, or that was what Robyn said.

"Where are they?" They had been running right behind them? Hurricane could have been well through the coal mine and further away at this point... the group wasn't very efficient hunters. Hugh rolled his eyes as he could hear the other tributes in the coal mine. "Apparently they must not be that mad. Must be stopping for a fucking nap." He laughed and hoped that it would echo down the mine that they were in. It was interesting the rush that Robyn had come with, the rush to run to let them know and it sounded like the quote was urgent - however... they still weren't here.

In the boredom of waiting, he reached into his pack as he leaned against the wall of the mine and started to drink and eat what he had gotten a few days before. It was a good bit of food, something from District Four. Something that reminded him of home and gave him a large grin on his face.

It was fucking impossible! She’d gone through at least six sheets of paper trying to write something down, give him advice...encourage him, anything! But everything she wrote down was too harsh, or too stupid sounding...or...or- she just couldn’t do it. She was worried that this might be the end. The real and true end. And she couldn’t kiss him goodbye like she could before. She had to use real words this time. And yet she couldn’t just say what she meant. She didn’t even know what she meant to say. But for once, words were failing her.

Circe always had something to say, but not this time. She was scared of what might happen. Of what he might think. She never cared what others thought. But like with everything, Hurricane was always different. It was getting to a point that she was almost more scared of what might happen should he win than what would happen if he didnt. She could think about that later though. If there was a later to think about. Right now, the fear was his death. A fear she would face alone in the safety of her solitude. After she sent the donation she’d go back to the empty and deserted apartment. Away from the prying eyes of the capitolites.

A parachute floats down from above towards Hurricane. Inside is Vitality (roll 1d60 HP), Antidote (Immediately stops DOT damage from poison), and a note.

As much as I hate to admit it, you made a good choice with Robyn. She’s actually somewhat reliable. But if it was me down there I’d rip those twelves to pieces...and you know I could. I really do care about what happens to you, you know. I wasn’t lying when I told you I wanted you to come back. I don’t know if that means anything to you. But I hope it does. I believe in you Hurricane, and I know you can do this. Stay alive for me, okay?

Reverie wished he could send something more helpful, but he was bound by the limitations of the shop and picked what seemed to be the best at the time. And always being a man of few words... he sent the gift with just the note with the uppercase R.

Antiope laid there waiting, had Seven not said the others were right behind her? She had thought so. Yet there was nothing, it was almost like the space between the elevator and where she was was huge. She had been standing close enough to the elevator that Hurricane had approached her quick, there was no space between them and the elevator to truly hide and have a picnic.

Seven must have lied. That was the only way.

Suddenly her thoughts were interrupted by a parachute. Reverie would not have sent it now if it wasn’t important. She quickly opened the box and pulled out the VITALITY injecting it into her thigh and waiting for the effects to come.

She was ready.
Phone post.
