Levi was on duty pretty much every day. There simply wasn't enough peacekeepers to go around in eight - given the fact it'd been labeled a "high-risk" district for rebel activity. He hadn't exactly known why, though, for all district eight did was work with fabrics - why was it them who seemed to bite back? He figured it'd make more sense coming from a more physical district, like nine, ten or eleven... but whatever. It was what it was, and they had to contain it.

In hindsight, district eight seemed a much more pleasant place to work than eleven. It was substantially cleaner - less dirt and muck from the fields, he supposed. He found it was always difficult to keep his uniform pristine back there, and he was welcoming the change in scenery wholeheartedly. Levi was a hard man to please, though, and often he'd find himself seeing faults in everything around him - women, clothes, food... the list goes on. It took a rare thing to impress the man, and so far in eight? There'd only been one thing that had. The girl.

A small part of Levi was hoping to see her today. Such was the reason why he found himself opting for the market today. It appeared to be a popular place, where citizens could trade their goods in exchange for food, cotton, clean water, and clothes. It was important they hang around the area though, often there were some dodgy dealings around, not to mention fights and squabbles over trades that would have to be dealt with. Levi hung on the outskirts of the market, scanning his eyes over the bustling busy stalls.

Stitch was out, again, but this time, he was trying to purchase material’s so he could make more clothes for his mother. He hated doing everything that she wanted, but he knew that if he didn’t, then he was going to have to either run away from the district, or he was going to be in for the ass whooping of his life. Neither of them sounded too appealing, so he just did as he was told. However, when he did it and how he did it were always up to him. His mother didn’t really care as long as he was meeting his quota. And at least she gave him the credit for his work. His mother believed in reputations, and if Stitch had a good reputation, as well as she did, it was good for business.

At least, that is what she told him. And he believed it like a fool.

He was sitting in the market, on one of the benches that actually wasn’t occupied for once. He decided that he needed a break from bartering with the usual people that he was told to go see. He was minding his own business for the most part, looking around to see if he could draw any inspiration from the people that were around him. There wasn’t much at this point, mostly people walking around in semi torn clothes because they couldn’t afford the acquire anything new. Stitch wished he could level with them, but he couldn’t, simply because his family was well off. The current items he bought, mostly just needles and thread, he stuffed away in the leather satchel that he made himself. Acquiring the leather cost him a pretty penny, but he couldn’t have been happier with the result of it. He opened that satchel and pulled out a notebook with a pencil and started to write down various things that he was thinking about in this moment. What color he wanted to use for his next creation, what he was thinking about making next, how sad and lonely he was. He took the pencil he had and struck out the last thought with a violence that could only be seen in the arena.

He hated thinking about it.

He looked up for a moment and looked around, seeing nothing out of the ordinary for once here in eight. Usually there was always something that was going on, whether it be a riot or someone caught stealing from one of the shops. He put down the pencil for a moment, grabbing his bag and slinking the strap over his shoulder. He couldn’t risk someone stealing it from him. That’s when he noticed someone walk by with a rip in their outfit. ”Hey, you do know that there is a huge rip on the side of your pants right?” He said quickly, not realizing that it was a peacekeeper. Shit. Stitch kicked himself for a moment, knowing that he shouldn’t have opened his mouth. However, the kind soul that resonated inside of him came out to play, and that meant that he was willing to do anything, and that included helping out the enemy.

If he wanted to oblige.

He'd been somewhat distracted for the past couple of days, and it sure been having an affect on his performance at work. All he could do what think about the girl with the freckles... all he could do was think about when they were to meet again. What he would say to her... what he would do... none of it made any sense, though. He knew that it could never be - it was all too risky. Peacekeepers weren't supposed to be with anyone from the districts. They all knew that rule was often overlooked when it came to sex though, but Levi hadn't heard of it being anything more than that. Ordinarily, he rarely had even associated himself with any of them, but this was different. She was different - even if he hadn't known how or why yet.

He thoughts was running full steam ahead, and they were all full with images of the girl. That was - until - he was rudely interrupted. A face sounded to the side of his when Levi turned on his heel. Levi wasn't the tallest of peacekeepers, but he had a hard face that people seldom crossed. He didn't give a lot of respect to people in eight, and certainly not those in eleven, either. He merely stared the boy in the eye. His voice had been innocent enough, and his intentions likely pure... but Levi liked to have a little bit of fun.

"Yeah? And how's that any of your business, eight?" Anyone could see there was a rip in his uniform - and often it'd be the case in their line of work. Much of the time they'd get brave pickpockets trying to cut holes in their pockets, or the odd rebel that thought themselves big enough to fight back. Levi wasn't entirely surprised this was the case again.

Stitch looked at the man and tried to figure out for just a moment why he might have acted the way he was. Stitch should have known it was because he was a peacekeeper, but that didn’t mean that he didn’t have a soul. To stitch, everyone had a soul, and everyone had a different side of them. Stitch had never interacted with a peacekeeper before, mostly because he never did anything to get them riled up, however, his mother had a couple times. Mostly for theft here and there, but nothing that she did. They were pleasant enough with her, but Stitch could have been reading into it in a way that he shouldn’t have been. His mother was someone that he couldn’t trust after all. He never took his mother’s words to heart after all, and there were days where Stitch just flat out walked out on her. He knew that she wouldn’t do anything because she couldn’t lose the one thing that made her money. As sad as it was.

So when he looked at the peacekeeper who seemed a little irate with him for mentioning that he had a rip in his uniform, Stitch couldn’t help but look at him with unconcerned eyes. He had no pity for someone that didn’t care about the clothes on their back. Call it weird, but Stitch felt like he could speak with clothes sometimes. He treated his job like it was the only thing that mattered in his life. He worked closely with a lot of people to make sure that they were taken care of, and there were days where Stitch went out and fixed peoples clothes for no charge. While the world they lived in sucked, it didn’t mean that there couldn’t be any kindness in it. After all, kindness was the only true way to fight cruelty.

”You should take a little bit more pride in your appearance. What if someone saw that rip?” Stitch said to him, still drawing into his sketch pad and not really paying attention to the man who obviously didn’t want his help. ”How are they going to take you seriously?” Stitch knew that he was treading water here, but he didn’t care. At this point, he needed a little excitement in his life, and if questioning a peacekeeper was the only way he could spice up his life a little, then so be it. It wasn’t like he could do anything that already hadn’t been done to him. His mother kept him a prisoner, he didn’t have many friends, and no one really cared about him unless he was making clothes for them. It was one of the many dark realities that Stitch had come to terms with since he turned 12. You were nothing but a pawn, but in this moment, Stitch could at least feel like a bishop. Something more. He now had power, even though it was up to the man to accept his offer to stitch up his uniform.
