The barriers to the Cornucopia were put back down and the crystal glimmered in the bright sunlight. There were new bags littered around with colors of their own. There was one bag for each tribute and that tribute alone. Stealing would not be tolerated.

The Vision themesong played over the speakers with the following announcement. "Another person has bestowed blessings on you. Go to the Cornucopia to retrieve your prize."

Bag Picture

Theodore

Praenomen
Oarwell

1. Your first post should be entering - the items are at the center of the area.
2. You may grab the bag on your second post.
3. Your third post can be an exit.
4. All your posts need to be 1 hour apart - or three other tribute posts (like BB2). You can also post before 1 hour time limit if you are responding to combat.
5. IF attacked - your tribute must roll to flee (unless you have the attribute of course)

[Transition Lucky from Dust and shadows]

The anthem had interrupted the fighting. For a few seconds every tribute in the area seemed to stop and look up at the faces in the sky. The first one was the Career from Two Lucky had a hand in killing, the second was Terra, two kills he had aided on. Next was Terra's district partner, a disappointment considering Rhy had said he would be one of the few to join them against the Careers, and last was gimp from Five, which was not surprising, if anything it was surprising he had lasted so long. Four dead. Thirteen more to go before he could go back home.

The darkness followed, it was absolute and Lucky found himself stepping back, he could feel the blood dripping from his nose, an injury from Theodore's sucker punch which had made him stumble back. A surprise considering how much the other had sucked at giving contact during the mutt fight. But he had connected, and hard. Lucky hesitated, he could barely see anything, and he was certain the Careers would have gotten night-vision goggles already, which would make Theodore undefeatable. He had to be smart. He whistled loudly, hopefully the others would understand his signal to fold back and then he ran off. Like a coward. But a smart coward.

He didn't stop until he fell down a sand-dune which disoriented him. Not wanting to run back to where the Pack was, he hid himself in sand and slept there. He was not sure where his allies were, but the lack of cannons indicated they were still around, somewhere. He slept like a rock, exhausted from all the fighting and physical efforts. He didn't wake up until a not-too-familiar chiming and the brushing of a soft fabric made him jolt awake. A donation laid at his side, beeping. With quick fingers he opened the donation to make the beeping stop, knowing the Careers to be close. Inside, he found a flash of some liquid and along with it, a note:
Lucky, we are all counting on you. Keep playing smart. Be careful, hopefully this reminds you of the Kumpania. -Patta.

Almost instantly Lucky opened the flask, the smell of green tea hit him and he licked his lips. Just like back home, tea was a much nicer thing than water, and something gypsies drank as part of their culture. He smiled and took a sip, quenching his thirst as he took long gulps. It was delicious, much better than the one back home. He felt re-energized. He placed it inside the satchel throwing the empty jar away.

Suddenly, music made his ears perk and he looked up confused. An announcement echoed through the arena talking about going to the Cornucopia for prizes. He smirked and immediately got back up. He put on his shirt and sweatshirt and tried to use saliva to clean some of the blood from his face and hands. He needed to be presentable, because he knew the Cornucopia would be the time when he would shine. Everyone would be there, Careers and non-Careers alike, and while it may turn into a big fight he needed to make sure he could reunite with his allies, and recruit new ones. This was a business trip of sorts, a time for his silver tongue to get him out of another problem.

He walked to the Cornucopia in high spirits, by the time he reached it he realized he was the first one there. With a smirk he approached the table and sat on top of it, a smile plastered on his face. He would soon look inside his bag, and find new allies, meanwhile he needed to make sure to take care of himself.

ENTER FROM Return to Elysium

The smile at the knowledge that Race had made it out of the desert lingered on Rory's lips as he continued walking toward the Cornucopia. His eyes set on the table and the figure that seemed to be on guard over all the bags around it. His grip on the poleaxe become more relaxed as he grew closer to the other, "Ya'made it!" Rory called out as to the other. His free hand lifted to give a bit of a wave. The alliance had to still be together, right? He didn't really consider the fact that the new day held the possibly of having the alliance shattered. They had all worked together for a hell of a fight with Saffra and then a brief encounter with the pack. They had to scatter, and Lucky seemed to have found his way to the Cornucopia before anyone else. A lone sentry perched on the table.

As he got closer, Rory could count the bags. There had been fourteen total, which meant that the gamemakers had intended on giving each tribute left a bag. He couldn't tell which one had been his yet, but his attention had been on Lucky for the most part. The alliance needed to stay put... They all had the chance to cause real damage to the pack if they just tried hard enough to fight back. It had been fairly matched up, but just one extra pack member left over.

When he finally stood close enough to Lucky, he noticed just how beaten down, bloodied, and battered the boy from district nine had been. His face looked swollen and discolored while the nose looked... off. He had seen a broken nose before... plenty of them, but that one looked nasty. Dried blood trailed out of the other's ear. He looked around half expected to see Rhy... but he had seen how much she had suffered. He took a spot and leaned against the table that Lucky sat on, "Tryin'ta decide which one is yours?"

The Gamemakers must have liked the fact that the tributes were finally coming together, but just in time for the darkness that fell upon the arena every single night. They brought out the bags - though it was said it was someone who offered a gift this time. There must have been a feud. It was Rosie on Day Three and a mystery beneficiary on Day Four. However, for those who knew about Capitol things... The Vision emblem on the bag made it entirely obvious who was helping the tributes on Day Four.

He noticed those who he had been allied with before. It was safer that way. Race kept up a steady pace as he moved towards the bags that were lined up on the table. Race started looking at the tags on them to find his own. He wasn't wasting any time... he wanted to know what he would get.

"Have you opened yours yet?" He rose a single brow and looked to the other two. The most important part... right? Race stood in front of his. And for once he wasn't anxious as he should have been. The other tributes would be coming here as well. And maybe he should have been more excited to see Rory - but they were mistaken if Race was going to show some sort of hug... or something. That wasn't Race.

Lucky took a deep breath, enjoying the few moments of solitude he had. He knew it wouldn't last for too long though, because other tributes would surely join him soon enough. There was no way anyone would pass up a chance at getting new supplies and gifts. Unless you were Kieran and his troupe of cowards, they surely would avoid it scared of a confrontation. The Careers would show up, and camp there waiting to take down every tribute that came through. Which was what Lucky was counting on. The Careers would show up, and he would be able to rally everyone else to fight them, and anyone who didn't want to join? They had no reason to remain in the Arena. A mischievous grin appeared on his face, teeth stained with blood, as he realized the circumstances of survival.

Lucky grabbed his bag and opened it to look inside, wondering what treasures he would find. Suddenly, a voice made him look up. It was that big loaf from Ten Rory, the one who had the muscles but who could not land a punch on a dying target. But at least he was on his side, so Lucky smiled at the other boy and waved back, ”This one's mine, actually,” he said and grabbed the one next to his tossing it at Rory for the other to catch, ”Yours,” he said and stretched kicking his legs around.

”Did you see anyone else, by any chance?” he asked casually as if they were discussing something completely irrelevant over lunch. Just as the words left his mouth, the thug from Six joined as well, looking as serious as ever, the only one to not introduce himself before. Lucky smiled at him and shrugged, "I did, show me yours and I'll show you mine," he joked, never one to take anything seriously.

The boy from nine had been much faster than Rory, and probably little smarter too. He had already picked up his own bag and began rummaging through it. He paused from his searching to toss Rory's his. He caught it with his free hand and cradled it against him. "—Omf!" He grunted from the impact and set it and his poleaxe down on the table top. He unzipped it and began rummaging through it as well.

Then, a voice called out them both. The same familiar voice that Rory had, and would never attempt, grown to miss for the while they had been apart. He turned and faced Race. The stern expression void of emotion, but his body looked far worse than Lucky's. Blood caked his skin. Deep crimson from the dried areas, and bright red from the still wet or seeping areas. His brows furrowed in concern as he turned from his Vision bag and unshouldered the mint sack and retrieved the larger bandage from it. "Here," he offered it out to him.

He turned his attention back to the bag. "Naw," he shrugged at the thought, "no Rhy?" He questioned as he peered over to Lucky. How had Rory managed to avoid any true damage while everyone else seemed to face the brunt of the force from the pack? Even Omen had a chance to attack him directly, and all Rory had suffered was a barely noticeable slice to his thigh.

Lucky had been concerned for Rhy, but not enough to go look for her. There had been no cannons ever since the darkness had arrived, which meant that Rhy had to be alive, somewhere. Perhaps not in the best condition, but she was alive which is what mattered. And now three out of their four were there at the Cornucopia waiting for anyone else to arrive. Lucky had not told his other two companions but he intended to attack anyone who arrived and was not willing to join their efforts against the Career Pack. He was a leader, and he would lead, he refused to allow people who were fine just coasting by get a chance to take the victory away from him.

”I lost her in the dark, I'm sure she will get here eventually,” he said with a shrug, there was not much more he could say about the situation. He looked inside the bag to find a note from Mirage, whom he assumed was one of the Capitol personalities though he had never never cared enough to learn who was who. The note complimented his strategy and told him to keep it up, which was all the encouragement he needed to continue down the path.

Inside the bag was a first aid kit as well, which he pulled out promptly. Immediately he started bandaging himself and using the cotton and rubbing alcohol to clean his wounds, the blood that was caked all over his body. He would wince with every application, but he would not stop because he needed to be in a good condition because there were fights coming. Soon, he would go head to head with Theodore again, but this time he would not run away.

"No dawg." He answered. Race had been utterly alone all night long. It was probably better that way. He didn't mind it. The grasses were almost like the bars and he was in his cell again. The rest of the world had melted away and he got a better sleep that he had in ages. Even with an arrow in his shoulder. There was something nice about the darkness - he almost wanted it back.

But, here they were. After reading the tags with the names on them, he finally recognized the group of letters that he knew were his own. Race grabbed the bag and pulled it in to open it and look at what was given to him. He hoped for a few things, but that was beyond his control. The whole world around him was blocked out as he searched through for hopefully something useful.

That was until he looked at Rory with a nod and turned his back to him and gave a nod to where the injury from the boy from Four was. He was really good with that bow. Rory would be able to reach the spot better than Race could anyway. "Help me out?"

It was all a bloody blur. Plenty of red, plenty of pain. Rhy didn’t remember much of the night before. She could feel the skin of the career as she raked her claws across her throat. She could feel the slickness of the wet blood escaping from each slit. She could taste her own death, seemingly so close. Metal. Disgusting. And she heard the cannon. But as for anything else? Well...it was all dark. After the death of the career, Rhy had more or less passed out in a bloody heap on the sands. She’d been too exhausted to fight the new threat, too weakened by the day to run. She hadn’t even fully come to terms with the arrival of the other careers. She’d ignored it all, and her body had yanked her mind into a deep lull, hidden safely in the pitch blackness of the night.

At some point, she’d awoken, seeing nothing but the black, but hearing the soft breathing of someone...or someones nearby. Asleep, and no threat for the time being. Rhy had no way of knowing if they were friend or foe, and so, she’d taken the opportunity to escape. She picked her broken body up off the ground and just started running blindly into the night. Where was she going? What was she doing? What was she going to do whenever she got where she was headed? It was dangerous to run, not knowing where you’re going, but Rhy didn’t have a choice. She was alone and scared, and she didn’t want to be caught by whatever she felt could be stalking her in the night. There was always something…always.

Eventually, her run came to a sudden and brief halt when she ran right into some sort of metal wall. With a loud thud, she smacked into it, falling flat on her ass. It scared the hell out of her, and she had no clue of what it could be. So, once her aching body hit the ground, she made no effort to push herself back up and keep going. She just kind’ve laid there, nothing but the throbbing in her head to keep her sound. By some miracle, she managed to fall asleep, and stay asleep. And she likely would’ve continued to sleep off her injuries if nearby voices hadn’t alerted her. Her eyes snapped open to find herself seemingly trapped in some crystal cage. She almost finds herself in a panic, but upon further investigation, she recognizes the inside of the cornucopia.

She creeps towards the entrance of the cornucopia, being careful to stay out of sight, using the wall to obscure herself from view. The voices were male, and she recognized them easily enough. Lucky and the other two. Rory and six. Rhy would’ve gone out to join the party, as there were seemingly goodies up for grabs. But she was understandably apprehensive. The betrayal of the twelves made her entirely apprehensive in approaching those she called allies. What if they’d left her behind because she was hurt? What if they’d meant for her to die? Would Lucky betray her so easily for two boys that could hardly throw a punch? It sounded absolutely insane, but so did abandoning a sure victory out of fear. She’d listen in for awhile, and maybe make sure everything was as it seemed before making her grand reappearance.

Chardonnay had been lost in the idea that everyone had their own tribute to take on. Chard hated the idea that she had no one to attack, Rory, Omen had him, Isla and Theodore had Lucky whom she wouldn't attack anyway. But she saw the boy from six, she liked him, and was impressed that he was still alive. But Oarwell took him on. So instead, Chard waited for the girl from nine to give her something but nothing happened. She would have loved to take the girl on in a real battle. She would destroy her.

But it never came, instead, she was drowned in darkness and the battle was over before it even began. She knew that the others would flee and there would be nothing for them to fight when the sun rose above the sand again. Chard wasn't going to stay here and wait for the sun to come up though. She looked around in the dark and spoke. "Alright, not waiting around here all night." She started slowly walking through the desert.

As the sun started to rise, she could see the shine of the crystal clear cornucopia, she didn't know where she was going but that's when she heard it. The theme song, the song from The vision. Her eyes went wide and a small grin spread across her lips. "Mirage you glorious and beautiful woman!' She then heard the announcement. Bags for each of them. She practically skipped into the cornucopia and stopped when she saw the three boys sitting and standing near the bags. "Aww...Shame. I don't suppose you wanna hand me that bag with my number on it would ya, Lucky?"

She smiled a bit before looking at ten and then six. "Hello boys."

It had taken a long time, but Patta had finally managed to convince people to have some faith in the District Nine tributes. First thing in the morning the donations had been sent, Lucky had received his when he woke up, but Rhyeana's was harder considering she had locked herself inside the Cornucopia. But it was sent, it would float down whenever she decided to leave the Cornucopia waiting so it would not alert the others of her presence.

Inside, she would find Healing Salve (25 HP) and a note:
Sorry it took so long, you're doing great. Take care of yourself,
-Patta

Isla was very disappointed in the way that things were going. Just when she was able to get another decent hit in, this time on the girl from Nine, the lights went off. Isla wanted to scream her frustrations but she didn’t want to bring on the spite of the gamemakers. This was something that they had designed and it was something that she had to deal with. No matter how frustrating it was. Though, soon after the lights were cut off, she heard Chardonnay announce that she wasn't staying here. Isla thought that was stupid. She would be separated from the pack and she could be lost. But Isla didn’t say anything. Instead, she found a dry area of sand that wasn’t soaked in blood and settled in for the night.

Once the light had begun to brighten the arena once more,an announcement filled the arena. The music was familiar, The Vision theme music. Isla then heard the announcement and she grinned. They would have more presents! Isla so adored gifts. She made her way in the direction that she was pretty sure the cornucopia was in after a quick yell to her remaining allies… though, in honesty, they could have all left like Chard had and she wouldn’t have noticed. ”come on boys! There is blood and presents waiting for us!” she said it in a giddy tone. Oh, how exciting this was!

It took a bit before she made it to her destination and by the time she got there, the alliance they had been fighting the night before and Chardonnay were already there. She walked in to hear Chardonnay ask the boy sitting on the table amongst their bags to toss hers to her. Isla approached as well. ”yeah, why don’t you be a doll and toss me mine while you’re at it?” she knew it probably wouldn’t happen but she was trying to buy some time. She and Chard were still outnumbered and she would rather level the playing fields before blood was shed. Though, she would fight for it too if that was what was needed. She wanted her freaking gift!

Chard stuck out her lower lip and let out a sigh. "No, I suppose not then..." She took a few steps towards him and smiled. Leaning in close enough to whisper something in his ear discreetly. "You're still my favorite." She wrapped her fingers around the handles to the bag and took a few steps back away from him. She smiled and looked over at Isla. She was there, that meant the others would be along shortly. She still didn't want to attack Lucky...yet. She slowly unzipped the bag and took a peek inside, wondering what goodies Mirage would be sending her.

"Come now, this is the slow start to the end of the games. Am I right?" She shrugged and looked from each boy before letting her eyes settle on Lucky. It was interesting that he had decided to ally himself with such people. Then again, it wasn't hard to believe. Alliance against the careers, it was smart.

It was one of the reasons she didn't underestimate the lower districts. Until she met the boy from five. Which was why she was a bit upset to see Bolt in the sky. He had been allied with the boy from five and she was hoping to see him one more time before he was picked off. But it was not in her cards. "So, what do we do now...?"

As she fought the mutt, it got darker in the arena. It wasn't until the arena was plunged into darkness that the thing ceased its attacks. Like her, it probably just couldn't see her. Which, in and of itself was a relief. The last she saw, she was bleeding, her entire torso was in so much pain she forgot what it was like not to hurt, and her queasiness from withdrawal was still bothering her.

For a moment she remained absolutely still, crossbow still in hand, just in case. But soon the anthem began and she collapsed to the ground. She felt around for bag as she glanced up at the newly dead faces. Merci was grabbing for her sleeping bag when Saffra's face shone in the sky. For just a moment, she froze, brow furrowed in confusion. Since when did pack members die when allied before the lower districts? It was a strange occurrence for sure, but she shrugged it off. The girl had openly threatened her; good riddance.

Laying the bag out in blindness proved to be difficult, but she managed, and slipped into it, shivering, but not because she was cold. She didn't wake until a voice overhead invited all the tributes back to the cornucopia. Getting more supplies would be fantastic, but she was injured and close to death. She would be easy picking for anyone who wanted her dead.

But as much as Merci wanted to live, by this point she didn't even think she'd make it much further. With a sigh, she crawled out of her sleeping bag, hurriedly stuffed it into her rucksack, and forced herself to go back to where it all began. Mercedes approached cautiously, and of course others were there. With fingers wrapped tightly around her crossbow, she made a break for the bag with her name on it, although her wounds slowed her down tremendously.

Isla didn’t think it would be as easy as to just have the boy toss her the bag that belonged to her. After all, he had already stolen one bag from her and now he was trying to hold this one hostage or something? Isla wasn’t going to stand for it. She would have her bag this time. Just as she was getting ready to go for her own bag, Chardonnay went after hers and the girl from Six showed up, running into the mix like a chicken with its head cut off. Maybe this was just the distraction that she needed to be able to grab her bag easily.

She used the distractions that were the other two girls and leaned forward to grab her own bag before stepping back a few steps. She unzipped her bag and looked inside, excited to see what gifts had been bestowed upon her. As she did so, she heard Chard’s question and rolled her eyes. ”what do you think, we put on a show.” she said it with a grin. That was what the Capitol wanted. And Isla would give them the show they wanted.
